Free Food Safety Audit Form

Thanks for signing up — here's your free Food Safety Audit Evidence Log.

Use this pre-inspection self-assessment to check your kitchen the way an environmental health officer would. It covers 44 items across 8 sections: licensing, your Food Safety Supervisor, food safety program and skills, food handling controls, health and hygiene, cleaning and sanitising, thermometers and pest control, and premises requirements. Each item is linked to the relevant clause of Food Standards Code 3.2.2, 3.2.2A or 3.2.3.

How to use it

  • Print the form and walk through your kitchen section by section.
  • Tick Y, N or NA for each item, and flag anything that needs attention.
  • Note your evidence — the record, sign or certificate that shows the item is in place.
  • Fix anything marked N or flagged before your next inspection.

Keep the evidence all year round

Most items on this form ask for records — temperature logs, cleaning schedules, supplier and delivery checks, training and pest control. The Food Safety Planner keeps every one of those records in a single book, so the evidence is ready whenever the inspector asks.

This self-assessment is a guide only and does not replace an official inspection. Section references are to the Food Act 2006 (Qld); check your own state's Food Act if you're outside Queensland.
